Detailed Review
The Geo Court II is a smart barefoot leather shoe made for daily use without compromising style. It offers flatness and flexibility to provide a great barefoot experience. These shoes are meant to last long while keeping your feet comfortable with their breathability and good grip.
The Outsole
The Geo Court II shoes have a 2.5mm barefoot outsole base and a 2mm tread design inspired by golf balls. The sole wraps high around your heels to help with its fitting. You receive sufficient sensory feedback and a seemingly reliable grip, suitable for daily use in the city.
Materials
Geo Court II is made of naturally scarred African leather from free-roaming animals. These shoes use renewable and natural materials with less process and waste. Furthermore, Vivibarefoot makes every pair from 17 recycled bottles.
Geo Court II also features a Bloom EVA insole made of algae biomass that cleans and restores the environment within the shoe.
Its solid and natural materials are designed to last long. When they do wear out, you can give back to the environment with the ReVivo refurbishing program.
The Revivo program aims to keep as many Vivobarefoot shoes out of landfills. Partnering with The Boot Repair Company, Vivobarefoot designed a program to convert worn footwear into revived products. The shoes are reconditioned and sold to give another life for someone else to enjoy.
Customers who send back old Vivobarefoot pairs for refurbishing will receive a 20% discount from the company or a £10 donation to the Livebarefoot Foundation.
Take note that ReVivo isn’t a repair service, and Vivobarefoot is focusing on the program for now. However, one of their goals, to be implemented soon, is to provide repair services for customers interested in getting their shoes back in better condition.
Although designed to be long-lasting, Geo Court II men’s reviews commented that the leather might crease quickly, showing minor signs of wear. But over time, the leather will begin to soften up, and the creases will soften and fade away. After wearing it a few times, they will start to get closer to a ‘roll,’ though they won’t go into a complete ‘roll’ because of its leather.
Some Vivobarefoot shoes reviews shared that the brand’s other models don’t show signs of wear immediately, particularly the Geo Court Nubuck (you can find other Geo Court shoes available).
Fit and Sizing
Vivobarefoot prides itself with the Geo Court II, as it is foot-shaped and not shoe-shaped. It has a suitable width and thickness, allowing natural stability and for users to feel the ground better. Furthermore, it is flexible enough to encourage natural movement, giving users the barefoot feeling.
However, there have been a few comments regarding their tightness around the pinky toe, so it’s better to order one size up as recommended by a good number of reviewers, whether you use a Geo Court II Men’s or Women’s shoe. Geo Court II Men’s users shared that the toe box has a solid slope, leaving more space in the big toe area than the outer toes.
Geo Court II vs. Geo Court I
The main difference between the Geo Court I and II is its overall feel. The Geo Court II is softer and not as close around the ankle compared to its predecessor. It lessens the risk of the shoe rubbing your ankle bones, resulting in pain and discomfort.
How Does It Feel?
The Geo Court II’s sole looks thicker than it feels. The shoes aren’t heavily cushioned either, so it might have you presume they are stiff shoes.
Some reviews say they are one of the stiffest barefoot shoes out of the box due to their thick leather. The Geo Court II’s upper material is thicker and leathery, so it won’t hug the foot too tight but enough to fit well. Out of the box, they fold and are more flexible on the uppers than their soles.

FAQ
What’s special about the soles?
Geo Court II soles are made of robust and ultra-thin material, engineered to maximize sensory feedback by minimizing interference between your feet and the surface. All of Vivobarefoot men’s and women’s shoes, besides the Ultra, feature a Pro 5 puncture-resistant layer. The Pro 5 is Vivobarefoot’s patent that fortifies the bottom of the shoe. According to Vivobarefoot, it’s five times more puncture-resistant compared to soles of other brands.
How do I clean Geo Court Shoes II?
Geo Court II shoes are made of leather, and regular cleaning will ensure the material lasts longer. Clean your Geo Court Shoes II by removing any coarse dirt using a clean brush, then use a soft, damp cloth to remove the rest of the dirt and stains afterward. You should also apply natural shoe wax generously onto your shoes, using a brush or your fingers. Shoe wax provides moisture to the leather material, closing the gaps where water may penetrate and keeping it supple. Allow the shoe wax to soak overnight, then polish it with a clean, dry cloth for it to shine. Afterward, impregnate your shoes using the right product to protect them from dirt and water as you use them outdoors.
Do I need socks?
It all depends on what you prefer! The ideal barefoot experience is free from insoles, but that choice is yours if you feel more comfortable with socks. You may need socks during cold days to keep your feet warm, or you may have gotten used to socks. Either way, we recommend that you use lightweight and non-restrictive socks to get as much of the barefoot feel as you can. Several Vivobarefoot shoes reviews mention that they prefer using shoes with socks to keep their feet from sweating in the shoes too much.
Why are Vivobarefoot shoes expensive?
Many different costs come with the manufacturing and marketing processes Vivobarefoot men’s and women’s shoes go through. From the custom lasts and molds, labor costs, premium materials, and the like. Furthermore, thin and flexible materials are more expensive to manufacture, factoring into the price. That said, Vivobarefoot aims to create long-lasting shoes like the Geo Court II. You get value for your money with a strong pair of shoes that feel great and keep your feet as comfortable as possible.
I have a medical condition. Are Vivobarefoot shoes still recommended?
Vivobarefoot offers thin and flexible footwear for barefoot walking and running, known to increase feet strength and improve posture. Vivobarefoot shoes may be recommended for those who have medical conditions, depending on your doctor’s orders. If you have any medical issues, especially orthopedic issues, you should consult your physician before trying minimalist or barefoot shoes like the Geo Court II. These shoes may be exactly what you need, but there are certain cases where you may experience the opposite.
Where does the leather come from, and is it ethically sourced?
Geo Court II is made of naturally scarred African leather, coming from hides of free-roaming cattle sourced by small-scale farmers. Vivobarefoot works with Pittard’s, the world leader in manufacturing performance leathers. The British tannery has operations in Edjersa, Ethiopia, with their leather shipped to Vivobarefoot and other brands around the world. Vivobarefoot has a ‘Soul for Africa’ collection, with every purchase supporting the ‘Soul of Africa’ charity project. The charity project helps allow jobs to single mothers and provide education and healthcare to orphans in Africa who lost their parents to AIDS.
Where were the shoes produced?
The Geo Court II men’s shoe was made in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, Vietnam. Hopefully, you learned a lot about the Geo Court II and got to see if it’s the right shoe for you. If you believe it’s a good match, then grab a pair when you can and see how it fits your next day out. Let us know what you think of the Geo Court II in the review section, too!
